Developing Resilience in our Children

Developing Resilience in our Children
The resilience of our children continues to be of the utmost importance during this period of uncertainty and restrictions.  We have been taking part in the NASEN webinars on Resilience during March and this month, we decided to launch our first of many Resilience days: Well-being Wednesday!

Every Wednesday, our children take part in an activity around promoting their well-being and resilience.  We have had two days so far this month:

Wednesday 7th April 2021 - gardening and planting.  Children across the setting engaged in activities designed to encourage children to learn about how to look after plants.  What do they require?  How do they plant seeds?  Children planted their own seeds in pots, learnt to water them and are caring for them to watch them grow.

Wednesday 14th April 2021 - baking, looking after our tummies.  Last week, children spent the day baking muffins in Full Moons and bread in Baby Moons.

Wednesday 21st April 2021 - this week is all about yoga and keeping fit.  Emma our Full Moons Room Leader has been teaching children yoga since January.  There are many benefits to children in completing this activity not least of which is mindfulness and improving focus.
